I was not too sure what to expect with microbead pillows, but the moment that I received them, I tried it out. Pads are not just accessories that can be used to sleep better. Microbead pillows have changed the way that I look at pillows. You wouldn’t like other pillows anymore once you choose the right pillow.
1. What Are Microbead Pillows?
Many people have become accustomed to using their favorite feather pillows. Some have switched to memory foam, but people who have started using microbead pillows do not regret it. I do not have any issues with using microbead pillows now, not only when I sleep but also when I relax.
Microbead pillows are filled with polystyrene microbeads. The beads are somewhat similar to plastic or may be considered to be a different version of plastic that is placed in a spandex shell.
Holding just one bead in your hand will not make any difference, but if they would be used all together, the difference will be evident. They can create the support that your neck and head would need while you sleep.
2. Will Microbead Pillows be Good for People with Allergies?
I get stricken with allergies very easily. Getting exposed to a dusty room will cause my eyes to become runny. I would start sneezing non-stop for a few minutes or until I leave the room.
The microbead pillows that I started using are very effective in reducing my allergic reaction. The beads are hypoallergenic, which is a plus for people like me who have allergies.
3. Can Microbead Pillows be Washed?
A lot of microbead pillows are considered to be durable and can be used for a long time. It is still best to check the instructions just to be sure. The care instruction label will let you know what things you should do to clean the pillows properly. Some of them cannot be washed, or the beads will be all over your washing machine. 4. Will Microbead Pillows Keep You Cool?
There are a lot of pillows that are available in the market, but some of them will not have the ability to keep you cool while you sleep. A hot sleeper will find it harder to fall asleep or to stay asleep at night, but using a microbead pillow will ensure that the temperature will remain the same even if you lie down for a long time.
It will be enough to keep you cool throughout the night. It is not only cool, but it can also be very comfortable too.
5. Can Microbead Pillows be Brought for Travel?
There are different sizes of microbead pillows that are available, but some of them will be easy to use for your travels. Some can even be snapped on your luggage so that you can start using them whenever you need to do so.
Other microbead pillows are meant to be placed around the neck. They will come with a snap closure so that you can easily get to sleep even when your seat is uncomfortable.
6. Are Microbead Pillows Safe?
Some people are concerned that microbead pillows may not be as safe as they would like it to be. Microbead pillows will provide the type of support that your neck and head may need.
Still, you have to make sure that you will place a protective pillowcase so that the beads will stay in place even if the first protective covering breaks. There are instances when microbead pillows immediately become ruined because of the thin material of their casing.
7. Can You Make Your Microbead Pillows?
You can always create your microbead pillows if in case you need them. You just need to have the right type of fabric that will help enclose the microbeads inside. The microbeads can be purchased from different stores. Some people who wish to DIY their microbead pillows buy them online.
8. Are Microbead Pillows Good for the Environment?
I was very concerned about this in the beginning. I would always like to promote products that will help save the environment or will not cause further harm to the environment.
My two cents on it are this: I try to make sure that I will not purchase more than what I need. I also try my best to make sure that they will last as long as they could.
They are not very good for the environment because they do not degrade. They will still look like beads 20 years after you have thrown them away. The best thing to do is to make sure that they are disposed of properly.
9. Buckwheat or Microbead Pillows?
The buckwheat pillow is also a favorite of mine. If you are not very familiar with this pillow, this is made out of husks that will help conform to the shape of the head and neck.
Using this can lead to a more comfortable sleep. Microbead pillows can also take the shape of the head and neck, which means that it can provide the needed support you need.
I have to say that I prefer microbead pillows when it comes to comfort only because I like soft pillows. Other people will prefer buckwheat because they feel that this is more comfortable.
It all boils down to what your preference is. You are recommended to try out both so that you can decide which will be ideal for you.
10. Will Microbead Pillows Last for a Long Time?
It will depend on the microbead pillows that you will choose. Some are meant to last for a long time. The quality of the beads will be different from one pad to another.
Even the pillowcase used to hold the microbead pillows in place will also be different. Take note that the beads should not be exposed to heat, as this will dramatically change its strength and its durability.
Conclusion
Microbead pillows are meant to last for a long time as long as they would be properly cared for. Try it out for yourself if you will find it as comfortable as I do. It may become your choice too whenever you would sleep at night.

how should you properly dispose of a microbead pillow? I have used mine for a long time and just recently developed a severe rash on my head, face and neck. I want to throw it away but do not know how best to do it. Any advice?
